News
- Three U.S. Representatives have introduced the WEAR IT Act, which would let Americans use money from Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts to pay for devices such as blood glucose and EKG monitors or sleep trackers.
- Hospitals serving marginalized communities are less likely to participate in interoperable patient data exchange, according to the latest ONC research. In particular, critical access hospitals are 16% less likely than other hospitals to engage in information exchange.
Studies
- The annual Consumer Experience and Employee Experience reports from Qualtrics paint a contrasting picture of satisfaction with the healthcare system. For example, while 79% of patients trust their doctors and nurses, only 54% of front-line workers trust leaders in their organizations.
- More than one-third (36%) of organizations have at least partly implemented AI solutions, according to a survey from Healthcare IT Leaders, and another 25% have started AI pilots. In addition, two-thirds of organizations plan to ramp up spending on AI by at least 25% over the next three years.
- More than half (56%) of American adults are worried about getting sick when they go to the hospital or a medical clinic, according to a Kinnos survey. Oly 51% are confident that hospital rooms are properly disinfected.
- A Humana study found that Medicare Advantage members covered under value-based care arrangements completed preventive screenings at a 14.6% higher rate than MA members not covered under a VBC model.

- Interoperability service provider MedAllies was selected to the MEDITECH Alliance Innovator Program.
- ECG interpretation software from AccurKardia is now integrated with Lucem Health Reveal, which identifies patients at a high risk of developing chronic conditions.
- GE HealthCare and BAMF Health are collaborating to expand U.S. adoption of Theranostics, a technique for providing more personalized cancer care.

- LexisNexis Risk Solutions launched LexisNexis Health Equity and Inclusion Insights to deliver SDoH data.
- PocketHealth launched MyCare Navigator to help patients follow up on care after receiving imaging results.
- LG Business Solutions released a 55-inch, 4K surgical monitor.
- Zebra Technologies unveiled HC20 and HC50, its latest Android-based handheld mobile computers.
- Mental health assessment platform Aiberry added screenings for five anxiety disorders.

- Southwest Florida’s Lee Health selected KeyCare for virtual urgent care within Epic.

- Michigan-based Baraga County Memorial Hospital and Baraga County Sheriff’s Department chose Avel eCare to support their Virtual Crisis Care program, which responds to calls for behavioral health crises.
- Three children’s hospitals selected Ovid Synthesis from Wolters Kluwer Health for clinical research: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Stanford Health Care and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
- Arizona-based veterans’ living facility Waymark Gardens chose Iveda telehealth and fall detection technology.

- NHS provider Joined Up Care Derbyshire Integrated Care System (JUCDICS) chose Doccla to launch its virtual wards.
- Children’s National Hospital selected Kyndryl as its IT infrastructure services provider.
