- A ransomware attack hit New York Blood Center, described by TechCrunch as one of the largest nonprofit blood centers in the U.S., on January 26; fortunately, the organization was back to regularly scheduled services by February 3.
- Also hit: Connecticut-based Community Health Center, which discovered a breach on January 2 after an attacker had been in its system for more than 2 months. All told, more than 1 million patients across 8 states were impacted – including Maine, which posted a helpful notice.
- Thirty-eight percent of medical researchers self-identify as wanting to be early adopters of AI, according to a recent Wiley report. Their main interests are using AI for manuscript preparation (75% of respondents) and handling large information sets (72%).

- Care management vendor HealthEdge has integrated with the Unite Us platform to connect health plan members with SDoH resources.
- Virtual orthopedic care company Upswing Health announced a strategic pilot with BowTie Medical, a virtual direct primary care provider.
- The healthcare payment product from PayMedix is now available to XO Health’s network of self-insured employers, TPAs, and value-based providers.
- Flatiron Health and Exact Sciences announced a strategic partnership to improve prediction of recurring cancer.

- Edifecs introduced Healthcare Interoperability Cloud to help payers exchange administrative and clinical data.
- Miami-based Amavita Heart and Vascular Health selected AISAP to support point-of-care ultrasound outside the hospital setting.
- Patient engagement and workflow automation platform Yosi Health completed its SOC 2 Type II audit.
- Research from Hinge Health showed a 53% reduction in chronic pelvic pain at 12 weeks for users of the Women’s Pelvic Health Program.
- Research from COTA showed AI models achieved 98% accuracy in oncology data queries in seconds, compared to 94% in 24 minutes from human teams.
- Long-term and post-acute care software maker PointClickCare joined CHAI, the Coalition for Health AI.

- Care coordination vendor Watershed Health named Effie Carlson as CEO.
- Decision support vendor Bamboo Health welcomed Ross Armstrong as Chief Commercial Officer.
