< + > ViVE 2025 Preview

As most of you know, we attend a lot of healthcare IT conferences every year.  For the world of health IT, the two biggest conferences on the agenda are 2 weeks apart: ViVE and HIMSS.  Next week we’ll be attending the ViVE conference and bringing you some of the best health IT content from the event.  We’ll be sharing a number of short videos on LinkedIn from the event, so be sure to follow me on LinkedIn and Healthcare IT Today to get the latest updates.  We’ll also be sharing them in articles on Healthcare IT Today in case you miss them.

Along with the videos we’re doing at the conference, we wanted to point you to a number of other places you’ll find us at the event along with some areas, sessions, and parties that we’re interested in at the event.  Check out our list:

#HITsm and Swaay.Health Meetup and Picture
The number one question we get before a health IT conference is – Where are the #HITsm and Swaay.Health communities planning to meet up?  We’re planning to do our annual ViVE picture with the #HITsm and Swaay.Health comunities on Monday 2/17 at 12:15 CT We’ll meet at the entrance to the exhibit hall by the info desk. The plan is to meet there at 12:15 to catch up with old friends and meet new ones.  Then, at 12:30 we’ll take a community picture with everyone that’s there.  We hope to see you there.

Just what the doctor ordered: flexible, transparent payment optionsJazz Stage, Wed 2/19 at 9:40 AM
Healthcare IT Today is excited to be moderating this fireside chat with Affirm’s Senior Director of Partnerships, Caroline Meehan.  You’re probably all familiar with the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) that is offered on so many websites.  In fact, you’ve probably seen Affirm on Amazon like I did.  Come and learn about how Affirm is bring some of these same principles to healthcare to provide a way for patients to better manage healthcare costs.  This is particularly true for the younger generation who are moving away from credit cards, but still want flexible payment solutions.

Sweet Dreams (Are Made of AI): Achieving Provider-Payer HarmonyAI@ViVE Pavillion Data Innovation Theater, Mon 2/17 at 4:20 PM
Check out this case study presentation focused on innovative AI that enhances the payer-provider collaboration.  Eric Thraikill from Allee Advisory Services and Zach Evans from Xsolis will be presenting this session.  We’ll be sharing some of the live insights from this session on our social channels.

Measuring Patient Data Quality with PIQI – InteropNow! Stage, Tues 2/18 at 10:20 AM
Featurng Charlie Harp from Clinical Architecture and Ryan Howells from Leavitt Partners you can expect a lively conversation based on data and regulatory experience.

InteropNow! Pavilion
I’m quite interested in checking out this pavilion.  It’s labeled for interoperability, but the stage is the Data Innovation – Interop and AI Theater.  So, I think we’ll see an interesting mix of data, AI, and other innovation.

CyberSecurity Pavilion
Such an important topic for every healthcare organization.  I’m always interested to see companies working in this space. They often span more than just healthcare and so you get a very diverse conversation about the challenges of cybersecurity and what healthcare can do better.

Club CHIME and ViVE Central Lounge
Of course, it’s always nice to hang out in the Lounge’s at a conference and let serendipty happen.  You never know who you’ll meet there, but that’s what makes it fun.  I always seem to meet someone I didn’t expect and learn something new from them.  Of course, Club CHIME is only for CHIME members.

ViVE Cafe
I haven’t seen details on what food they’re going to offer at the cafe.  However, at least the food is included in your registration at the event.  Most people will just be happy they don’t have to trek 10 min to get to the cafe like they did in LA.

ViVE Industry Night and Parties
ViVE just announced the details of Industry Night which is the big party hosted by the conference on Tuesday evening.  DJ Grant Fisher will be spinning with performances by MOGA Family Band and Whiskey Cash and Roses.  Kind of disappointing compared to previous HLTH and ViVE events who had big names.  I heard rumors that the previous guest had some issues.  All of that said, I think it will be a fun night and these bands you never heard of often put on a great performance because they still care.  Lots of other parties on the list.  A few I’m always excited for are the ELLKAY Party, Hyro is going big, Gozio Health has a good one, and of course I’ll have to stop by Ed Marx the Spot among a few dozen others. Basically hit almost any place on Broadway with a private event or hotel bar and you’re likely to find a ViVE party happening.

#ViVEvent Hashtag
Do hashtags matter at events now?  It used to be a really big deal to follow the hashtag at an event.  You could almost be in a session without actually being there since people shared on the hashtag so much.  Is that true now?  Well, we’ll be using the hashtag as we share content.  Of course, there’s no consistency in hashtags these days, but ViVE is using #ViVEvent so I guess that makes it the official hashtag instead of #ViVE25 or #ViVE2025 or #ViVEUSA which would be similar to the #HLTHUSA one they used at HLTH.  Long story short, use #ViVEvent and follow along as others share on it too.

This list could be much longer, but hopefully this gives you an idea of where we’ll be at ViVE and some of the things we’ll be looking forward to seeing.  What’s on your list?  Let us know on social media of any sessions, parties, events, etc that we should consider adding to our crazy schedule at ViVE.
