A survey from virtual care platform KeyCare concluded that 92% of patients would be somewhat or very likely to use telehealth within the next year for routine medical care such as urgent care, chronic condition management, or mental health services. At the same time, 79% of patients said it was “very important” that both their telehealth provider and primary care provider could access their records.
A report from LexisNexis Risk Solutions found that 49% of payers have experienced a data breach in the last five years, with an average of 12,000 member records compromised and an average mitigation cost of about $5.4 million. Among the payers impacted by a breach, 55% saw a reduction in member re-enrollment rates and 40% reported a lower enrollment rate for new members. Among all payers, social engineering is the most common type of attempted cyberattack, followed by ransomware.

- Content management and business process automation company Laserfiche introduced handwriting recognition to its platform.
- Connecticut-based hospital system Nuvance Health launched Neuroglee Connect, a virtual care and remote monitoring platform for home-based neurology care.
- Truveta released Truveta Studio, a patient care and outcomes analytics tool built on the data network’s deidentified data set from 25 providers providing 16% of the nation’s care.
- Data exchange API platform Particle Health introduced ADT notifications that enable real-time admission, discharge and transfer alerts.
- Clinical trial accessibility platform Inato introduced the Check Your Fit tool to let health systems see if they are a good match to host a trial.
- Nearly 86% of organizations using CipherHealth’s digital rounding tool saw increases in two or more HCAHPS domains, according to the company’s research.
- More than 80% of skilled nursing and long-term care patients treated using behavioral telehealth from MediTelecare experienced a reduction of depressive symptoms, according to the company’s research.
Sales
- Financial engagement vendor Cedar launched the Payer Intelligence Layer, which integrates data from payers and providers, and announced Highmark and the Allegheny Health Network as its first users.
- Mass General Brigham implemented DexCare, a platform for managing access, capacity, and demand for virtual care.
- The Vermont Department of Health is using VisualDx to provide diagnostic clinical decision support; the program is expected to be available to all medical professionals in the state by the end of the year.
- MEDITECH selected Health Gorilla as the technology platform for Traverse Exchange Canada, a nationwide interoperability network.
Awards
- Digital therapeutic MyndVR will deploy in 50 state veteran homes through a $250,000 grant awarded by the recreational therapy program Bowlers to Veterans Link.
- Conversational AI tool mPulse Mobile announced winners of its Activate 2022 Awards for improving health equity and patient outcomes: AltaMed Health Services and CalOptima Health, both in California, along with New York’s MetroPlusHealth and Humana.

- Patient access analytics firm LeanTaas appointed Hugh Cassidy as chief data scientist.
- Federal healthcare technology consultancy National Government Services named Judy Jiao its first-ever chief information officer.
- Surgical AI and insights vendor Theator named Toby Cosgrove, MD to its Executive Advisory Council. Cosgrove is the Cleveland Clinic’s former president and CEO.
- Value-based home care vendor Reverence hired Joseph Loria as chief technology officer.
- Preventive care platform HealthCues hired Ami Knecht as director of client success and Cassie Nix as director of operations.
