Surveys

More than 75% of healthcare leaders and workers have experienced burnout in the last year, according to a Holon Solutions survey. A similar percentage believe addressing burnout should be a top priority for their organization, but 35% of workers believe common steps such as higher pay, better benefits, and increased staffing are inadequate.

A similar survey from Tebra found 77% of healthcare workers see a healthcare crisis happening due to understaffing and burnout. Additionally, 73% of workers said they felt underpaid, 59% said they feel underappreciated, and one-third plan to leave their job in the next year.

Nearly 90% of patients want to take a more active role in their health journey, a TailorMed survey found. Key clinical motivators include better engagement with their doctor or pharmacy (38% of respondents) and better well-being (34%), while 95% said it was important to understand the cost of care and have convenient ways to pay their bills.

A Redpoint Global survey found that 62% of patients expect online communications to match the in-person experience they have with their providers and insurance companies. Two-thirds believe AI has the potential to enhance healthcare, but 45% don’t want AI to be used if it will put their daya privacy at risk.

• Patient matching technology vendor 4medica released EZReg, a patient registration application.
• The founders of Heal launched a new company, Together by Renee, which uses generative AI to manage healthcare tasks for older, chronic patients and their caregivers.
• Ocutrx, which manufactures augmented reality headsets and robots for medical facilities, debuted its 3D surgery visualization theater.
• Smart Eye unveiled vital sign detection as the latest feature of its in-car Driver Monitoring System.

• Chicago-based Haymarket Center selected NextGen Enterprise EHR and PM software.
• Cleveland-based University Hospitals selected Nuance for patient engagement and automated support.
• The VA selected Sierra7 and AvaSure to provide a TeleCare Companion product for seven VA Medical Centers.
• In addition, the VA chose Iveda’s Movement Interactive to support its aging in place initiative.
• The LSU Residency Program tapped Suki AI for voice solutions to automate tasks like coding and note-taking.
• Philadelphia’s Temple University Health System is integrating DrFirst medication management and drug benefit verification tools into Epic.
• The University of Texas System chose TimelyCare for 24/7 mental health support for students at its 14 campuses starting this fall.
