- Roughly 75% of healthcare leaders expect widespread implementation of AI within three years, according to a BRG survey. Additionally, 60% believe current AI regulations provide adequate safety measures.
- While healthcare organizations expect 38% of employees to use AI tools by 2028, 78% say they don’t know how to train employees, according to research from Amazon Web Services.
- The good news? Investment in women’s health tech increased 5% between 2002 and 2023, according to Deloitte. The bad news? It represents just 2% of all health tech VC investment.
- Though 80% of healthcare organizations are interested in advanced analytics solutions, only 6% have fully adopted them, a report from Net Health and HIMSS Market Insights found.
- Nearly 8 in 10 (78%) of patients would use a virtual second opinion tool if their employer or health plan offered it, according to a report from The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic.
- Cost savings are the top priority for 63% of healthcare supply chain leaders, a survey from symplr found. The top challenges, meanwhile, are margin pressures, inconsistent processes, and staffing.
- Texas and Ohio have a greater percentage of food deserts than other states, according to a report from AnalyticsIQ. Also, families in food deserts have more children on average than other communities.

- The Sequoia Project and HL7 International are collaborating to accelerate the adoption of FHIR standards.
- Humana is partnering with Veda to improve the accuracy of its in-network provider information.
- Greenway Health and Luma Health partnered to create Greenway’s patient engagement portfolio.
- Pharmacy patient engagement vendor MedAdvisor Solutions is partnering with Brand Engagement Network to bring AI assistants to select customers.

- hc1 Insights launched hc1 Workforce Optimization to help project lab volume trends and predict staffing levels.
- Patient education and support vendor Belong.Life unveiled the BelongAI Dave – Cancer Mentor application.
- GE HealthCare launched LOGIQ, its ultrasound product portfolio, and announced PUIR IMAGING as one of its first LOGIQ AppAPI partners.
- Several sales announcements from eClinicalWorks: Florida-based Medical Risk Solutions chose eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR and healow, Texas-based Be Well Primary Care Medicine deployed healow, Texas-based Odessa General Surgery Robotics selected eClinicalWorks AI and Sunoh.ai, and Texas-based Orchid Wellness implemented eClinicalWorks EHR and healow.
Awards and Recognitions
- UnityPoint Health earned the 2024 Flywheel Award for measurable, impactful improvements at the recent Health Catalyst Healthcare Analytics Summit. The company also announced eight winners of the 2024 Catalyst Awards.
- CharmHealth announced three winners of its latest CodeRx Hackathon, with winning entries focused on improving healthcare forms, EHR interfaces, and clinical summaries.
People
- CHIME announced two promotions: Nicole Kerkenbush to Senior Vice President & Chief Learning & Member Experience Officer, and Jane Bogue to Senior Vice President & Chief Growth Officer. Additionally, CHIME and care.ai are partnering to create a Smart Hospital Maturity Model.
- Digital health enablement platform Rhapsody named Jitin Asnaani as Chief Product Officer.
- Drug data infrastructure and analytics company Kalderos added two members to its Board of Directors.
