Welcome to the weekly edition of Healthcare IT Today Bonus Features. Studies

• According to a Wolters Kluwer survey, 68% of physicians think generative AI will benefit healthcare – but to trust the technology, 89% said vendors need to be transparent about where information was sourced and who created it.
• The 2024 Healthcare Reputation Report from Reputation found 73% of consumers demand a minimum 4-star rating to even consider engaging with a provider. Additionally, patient feedback volume has increased 150% in five years.
• Research from Inovalon and Harvard Medical School found enrollees in Medicare Advantage HMO plans tend to be more socioeconomically disadvantaged than enrollees of MA PPO plans.
• A report from InnerBody said the rate of Americans without insurance has hit an all-time low of 7.7%, though there’s a significant gap between the state with the lowest rate of uninsurance (Massachusetts at 2.4%) and the highest rate (Texas at 16.6%).
• The 2024 State of Locum Tenens Report from CHG Healthcare found 27% of physicians choose locum tenens for work-life balance. Another 13% do it to transition to retirement, and 13% more do it because they’re in between phases of training.
• Less than 26% of patients said they’d experienced a high level of care, according to a report from Soliant. That’s compared to more than 36% who said they were dissatisfied with their care experience.
• The latest from Epic Research found Black patients are 32% more likely to have an overestimation of oxygen in their blood, which can result in delayed care, and atrial fibrillation patients with obstructive sleep apnea have a higher rate of ischemic stroke.

Partnerships

• Google Cloud announced partnerships with Path AI (pathology imaging) and TetraScience (extracting insights from drug discovery data).
• Butterfly Network deployed 500 portable ultrasound probes in Sub-Saharan Africa through its partnerships with Clinton Health Access Initiative and training partner Global Ultrasound Institute.
• Solera Health added three solutions to its Solera HALO platform, emphasizing personalized treatment for preventing and reversing common chronic conditions.
• Carequality Interoperability Framework Implementer Innovar Healthcare is partnering with Tele911 to deliver clinical documents to emergency healthcare services.
• Trilliant Health released the entry-level tier of its Provider Directory and the national version of its Demand Forecast on Databricks Marketplace, an open marketplace for AI assets.

Product and Company News

• RXNT launched Advanced Reporting tools as part of its integrated Clinical and Practice Management software systems.
• Data analytics platform Clarify Health added capabilities to its price transparency product for identifying negotiation opportunities and calculating overage scores.
• ObvioHealth launched ObvioGo 2.0, the latest version of its clinical trial management and deployment tool.
• CharmHealth kicked off its 2024 Innovation Challenge; the submission period closes on August 1.

Sales

• Pine Park Health chose Innovaccer for population health analytics; the company provides primary care for senior living communities. Meanwhile, Cured by Innovaccer launched its Healthcare Experience Platform.
• Texas-based men’s health clinic PriMALE Health selected eClinicalWorks Cloud EHR, healow, and Sunoh.ai. In addition, Oregon-based Canyonville Health and Urgent Care integrated eClinicalWorks and Sunoh.ai.
• OSF HealthCare will use Brand Engagement Network AI assistants for simulated training operations at select provider facilities.
• Oregon Health and Science University chose LeanTaaS for help alleviating operating room staffing challenges.

People

• WeightWatchers appointed Donna Boyer as Chief Product Officer, effective May 1.
• IT services firm HCTec hired Michelle Moran as Chief Growth Officer.
• Patient intake and engagement software maker Yosi Health announced five senior leadership hires.
