When choosing a setting for their new ambient AI scribe solution, Arnavaz Hajizadeh Barfejani and Ali Daneshmand, Co-Founders of Zirr AI, chose general practitioners because they see enormous numbers of patients each day and could save significant time by letting generative AI create transcripts and SOAP notes. They plan to extend support to many specialties, but not by providing templates. Daneshmand points to the use of templates in EHRs and doubts that they’ll be useful in ambient voice.
Daneshmand and Barfejani base their strategy on their deep involvement in healthcare. (Both are doctors, in addition to which Daneshmand holds an MPH and Barfejani is a pharmacist.) Their product is young, but they think they can respond quickly to clinicians’ needs. In addition to the transcripts and SOAP notes, Zirr offers differential diagnosis and treatment plans. The cofounders hope that it can overcome bias or limited thinking by physicians by suggesting things they might have forgotten during a busy work day that’s full of distractions.
They currently offer a web-based service, processed in the AWS cloud, and plan to provide a mobile app. They will also add plug-ins to EHRs. The product recognizes English and Spanish, and can translate Spanish to English.
