Reports
- A Deloitte report found 94% of consumers are willing to participate in virtual health visits – but half of health systems offer the same or fewer virtual visit options compared to 2022. That said, 82% of executives said they’d expand virtual visit offerings if reimbursement was on par with in-person care.
- PwC found 80% of consumers aged 18 to 34 are willing to use generative AI in healthcare, compared to less than 60% of those over 55. In addition, half of consumers over 55 prefer an in-person doctor visit, compared to just one-third for younger adults.
- A report from Google Cloud found clinicians spend 28 hours a week on administrative tasks, with 80% of providers not surprisingly saying this work takes away from time spent with patients.
- While a report from cloud security vendor Netskope found 80% of healthcare CISOs see themselves as business enablers, 66% believe other members of the C-suite fail to see that the CISO role makes innovation possible.
- Half of the investment in AI for digital health in 2024 has been administrative, according to a report from Silicon Valley Bank. That compares to 37% for medical use cases and 13% for R&D.
- Nearly two-thirds (65%) of RCM leaders believe generative AI will substantially impact medical coding operations, according to an AKASA survey.
- WeightWatchers for Business found 69% of consumers want employers to offer weight management health benefits; this compares to 67% who want mental/behavioral health benefits and 37% who want child/elder care assistance.

- Wolters Kluwer Health has made UpToDate available in Abridge, an AI-powered clinical documentation platform.
- McKesson subsidiary Ontada is collaborating with Microsoft, using Azure AI to process more than 150 million unstructured oncology document components.
- CLEAR is partnering with Selfii to verify patient-driven record requests within Selfii’s Patient Health Application.
- Patient engagement platform Upfront Healthcare joined the athenahealth Marketplace.
- Home care software provider Homecare Homebase named CareXM a recommended partner for clinical triage services.
- Privacy technology vendor BeeKeeperAI and Nordic Consulting are collaborating to develop clinical decision support systems for EHR workflows.
Products
- Oracle announced Oracle Health Clinical Data Exchange, which streamlines claims processing between providers and payers. In addition, Oracle announced Oracle Health Payments, an end-to-end payment system for providers.
- Data management platform 1upHealth announced 1up Patient Connect, which lets organizations grant patients access to their data within their chosen application.
- Digital identity vendor AllClear ID launched Health Bank One, which consolidates a patient’s digital and paper records into a single account.
- Practice management software vendor Myriad Systems launched MyScribe AI for automated charting and coding.
- Parachute Health launched AI Intake, which digitizes paper-based orders for durable and home medical equipment (DME/HME).
- Inovalon launched Converged Record Review to help health plans streamline the risk adjustment process.
- RCM automation vendor Apprio launched Intelligent Denial Prevention.
People
- Healthcare operations software and services vendor RLDatix appointed Dan Michelson as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board, effective November 1, 2024.
- Digital therapeutics vendor Kaia Health appointed Adam Pellegrini as CEO.
- Healthcare professional consultation community Healthcasts appointed Max Baumer as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
- Pivot Point Consulting appointed Scott Sims as Senior Vice President, Business Development and Recruiting.
