AI and automation are all the buzz in healthcare technology right now. There’s a feeling that if you’re not doing it, then you’re doing something wrong. The challenge for healthcare IT leaders is that they aren’t sure the best ways to leverage AI and automation. Plus, they’re asking which are real and which aren’t truly tested on healthcare problems.
To learn more about this topic, we sat down with Chris House, CTO at HealthAxis, to talk about some of the ways they’re seeing AI and automation used in healthcare to drive efficiency and empower staff. We start off the interview talking about AI and how HealthAxis is using it to optimize call center operations. Plus, he shares some of the key improvements these AI-driven tools have brought to the customer interactions. This included things like reduced average handle time (AHT) and improved agent productivity.
Then, we shifted gears to talk about RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and the benefits of automation. House shares an example of how RPA has transformed claims processing workflows, leading to measurable efficiency gain and how RPA can streamline and automate the repetitive, rule-based tasks that exist in claims administration.
House also dives into how AI and RPA are freeing up staff from time-consuming tasks, allowing them to focus on complex cases or improving service quality. Plus, we ask him what strategies they are putting in place to train staff on using these solutions. Finally, we wrap up with what advancements in AI and RPA House thinks we’ll see in the future that will impact healthcare operations.
