Welcome to the weekly edition of Healthcare IT Today Bonus Features. This article will be a weekly roundup of interesting stories, product announcements, new hires, partnerships, research studies, awards, sales, and more. Because there’s so much happening out there in healthcare IT we aren’t able to cover in our full articles, we still want to make sure you’re informed of all the latest news, announcements, and stories happening to help you better do your job.
News and Studies
- Data from ASTP/ONC showed 65% of patients were offered and access their medical records online in 2024, which is a jump from 25% in 2014. Additionally, caregiver access to patient portals has doubled in just four years. One downside: Though 59% of patients have multiple portals, only 7% use an app to combine disparate records in one place.
- A Boostlingo report found only 56% of EHRs capture a patient’s language needs – and of those, only 59% do so at every encounter. That gap can leave patients without much-needed interpreter services.
