News from Capitol Hill
- Roughly 60 organizations committed to improve healthcare data sharing by pledging to meet voluntary CMS Interoperability Framework criteria, support patient data use, and “kill the clipboard.” In emailed statements, the EHR Association said it “welcomes the Administration’s innovative thinking,” while WEDI said it “fully support[s] the direction of this pledge.” Left unsaid in the CMS statement is how these pledges relate to TEFCA.
- Meanwhile, ASTP/ONC released the HTI-4 final rule. In a blog post, the agency described how the final rule adopts FHIR certification criteria to support standardized, electronic prior authorization and also updates the baseline standard for ePrescribing.
Studies
- According to an Imprivata report, 74% of shared-use devices in hospital settings are left signed in, 79% of staff admit to sharing credentials, and 81% resort to using personal devices if shared devices are unavailable.
- Health system operating margins have held steady at about 1% for the first half of 2025, according to data from Strata Decision Technology. That said, expenses are on the rise, and margins are lower than the second half of 2024.
- Nearly half (47%) of Americans admit to putting off health care services due to cost barriers, according to a survey from Madaket Health.
- Nearly 57% of women fail to attend a postpartum follow-up visit between 3 to 8 weeks after giving birth, according to Cedar Gate Technologies.
- More than 55% of Medicare beneficiaries are now enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans, according to a Trella Health report.

- Healthcare cybersecurity vendor Clearwater launched its Enterprise Cyber Risk Management solution.
- Dun & Bradstreet launched D&B Healthcare Insights, a data set for sales and marketing teams.
- FUJIFILM Healthcare launched FDR Go iQ, a portable digital X-ray for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
- Homecare Homebase released its 2026 Home Health Impact Model and a new suite of Advocacy Dashboards, which are aimed at helping home health providers navigate proposed payment changes from CMS next year.
- Labcorp launched Test Finder, a generative AI tool developed with AWS that helps providers select lab tests.
- Linus Health announced the expanded launch of Anywhere, its digital cognitive assessment platform. In addition, Linus Health’s assessments are now available through League, which makes portals for private health plans.
- Sword Health launched Sword Intelligence, a division offering AI agents for care management.

- AdvancedMD added to its integration marketplace EirSystems, maker of an electronic medication administration records platform.
- athenahealth migrated all eligible providers on the athenaOne network to TEFCA.
- RCM vendor EnableComp earns HITRUST e1 Certification.
- Inovalon achieved NCQA HEDIS Measure Certification for 2025 for its Converged Quality offering.
- New York HIE entity SHIN-NY awarded HealtheConnections a contract to provide Statewide Encounter Alerts; the company has partnered with PointClickCare to deliver the technology.
- Identity management vendor Verato attained HITRUST Risk-based, r2 recertification, which the vendor has held since 2017.

- Drug price transparency platform Kalderos appointed Meghal Patel as Chief Product Officer.
- Pharmacy navigation company Scripta Insights named Ken Pickering as Chief Technology Officer.
