In this video, Todd Stottlemyer, CEO at Acentra Health, sets forth new initiatives at his company and his own views on leadership.
Acentra Health recently launched a consortium named the Safe AI and Medicaid Alliance (SAMA) combining policy leaders and technical experts to develop safe frameworks for AI adoption. The consortium is open to anyone who wants to participate, and deals with issues of compliance and equity in AI.
More generally, Stottlemyer stresses Acentra’s desire to be a “trusted partner” for its clients and to help them see “where the puck is going to be”—in other words to be ready for constant changes in a dynamic, changing market.
Combining technical and clinical expertise, Acentra is the product of a merger between CNSI and Kepro. They work with 47 states, 25 federal agencies, and commercial health care institutions.
Acentra employs subject matter experts in multiple disciplines including former government employees, along with forming an external advisory board. Stottlemyer emphasized their national client focus group that meets 5 times a year to discuss policies and programs as well as technology.
In terms of clinical focus, he stresses “the whole person” and “the whole population.” Data analytics, informatics, and AI should be applied to create “actionable insights” and better patient outcomes.
Stottlemyer also spends considerable time discussing his philosophy of personal leadership. He believes that culture is crucial and wants to be a “servant leader” who leads by example. He is active in professional and local communities and encourages other managers to do so as well.
