News
- MEDITECH Founder and Chairman A. Neil Pappalardo passed away on January 27 at the age of 83. Neil was co-author of MUMPS, the first healthcare-specific programming language and the backbone of multiple EHR systems. MEDITECH, founded on August 4, 1969, now has more than 2,000 customers in 29 countries.
- ASTP/ONC released Draft USCDI v7, with 13 of its 30 overall proposed data elements already represented in exchange specifications required in the ONC Health IT Certification Program. The draft is open for public comment until April 13. In addition, ASTP/ONC selected nine pilot programs to test standards for behavioral and physical health data exchange.
- The Sequoia Project released a draft set of best practices for reducing barriers to patient access to health data for public comment, with public feedback accepted through April 2.

Studies
- Three in five healthcare employees say ChatGPT has helped reduce burnout, according to a Tebra survey. To that end, 13% say an AI tool outage is more stressful than an EHR system crash or a last-minute shift change. Another Tebra survey found 53% of Americans ignore or delay responding to legitimate messages from providers or insurers because they’re worried they might be scams.
- Vizient is projecting a 2.78% increase in healthcare supply chain prices between July 2026 and June 2027; for the first time in more than a decade, pharmacy trails IT and facilities-related costs when it comes to projected inflation.
- More than 70 percent of life sciences executives said clinical trial patient engagement and medication adherence post-commercialization are their most persistent challenges, according to a Lirio survey.
- The latest report from Digital Health New York found New York-based digital health companies raised $4.8 million in 2025, which is a 20% increase over 2024.
- Hospital operation margins hovered around 1.2% for the bulk of 2025, according to the latest data from Strata Decision Technology.

- Pharmacy operations software maker Buzz Health has integrated RxUtility’s RxCompare multi-discount card pricing API.
- Business management service provider Firstsource Solutions Limited is deploying voice agents from Prosper AI across its RCM tools.
- Infectious diseases testing lab HealthTrackRx selected SYNERGEN Health as its RCM partner.
- Humana launched Agent Assist, built with Google Cloud AI, to help agents deliver personalized answers to member health benefit questions.

- ConcertAI unveiled Accelerated Clinical Trials, which integrates real-world and proprietary data for trial sponsors and contract research organizations.
- Epic released AI Charting, a feature built into Art (Epic’s clinical AI tool) that listens during patient visits, drafts the clinician’s note, and queues up orders
- Infinitus Systems launched its Agentic AI Member Services Suite to assist health plan member services.
- Kontakt.io announced Supply Chain Agent, which uses real-time data to orchestrate medical equipment across inpatient settings.
- Optum launched two digital prior authorization solutions: Digital Auth Complete (for providers to submit requests) and InterQual Auth Accelerator (for payers to review requests).
- Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent now supports automated order creation in the United States.
- PhaseV launched Enrollment Lab to help clinical trial sponsors quantify a study’s enrollment potential and model the impact of protocol trade-offs.
- Press Ganey launched Narrative HX, which analyzes unstructured patient feedback.
- Swisslog Healthcare subsidiary TransLogic launched MYtranslogic, a cloud-based application for accessing the company’s tube system monitoring.

- Washington state’s MultiCare Health System selected Ambience Healthcare for enterprise-wide documentation, coding, and clinical workflow automation.
- New Mexico’s Presbyterian Healthcare Services expanded deployment of GW RhythmX‘s AI Precision Care Platform to 200 primary care clinicians.
- Minnesota-based M Health Fairview selected Nabla‘s combined ambient AI assistant and dictation capabilities.

- Telehealth vendor Doc.com filed for a Nasdaq listing.
- MedCognetics obtained FDA clearance for CogNet AI-MT+, its radiology triage and notification software.
- RevealDX obtained FDA clearance for RevealAI-Lung, which is AI software for lung nodule risk assessment.

- Life sciences data analytics company Beghou named Meredith Ressi as President and Chief Growth Officer.
- Real-world evidence company Atropos Health appointed Sylvia Isler as Chief Technology Officer and Drew Turitz as Chief Financial Officer.
