Happy Sleep is the Latest in a Series of Investments OpenLoop Has Made Alongside Its Acquisitions Since 2024
OpenLoop, the leading telehealth infrastructure platform powering more than 300 organizations nationwide, today announced it is adding strategic investments to how it expands, putting capital into clinical companies working in categories its infrastructure already supports rather than acquiring them outright. Its newest investment is in Happy Sleep, maker of the first and only FDA-cleared smart ring capable of diagnosing sleep apnea at home in as little as five days with 98% accuracy. Terms were not disclosed.
Since 2024, OpenLoop has completed 13 strategic investments and acquisitions, including Season Health, a nutrition and chronic care platform, and Hey Revia, an AI-powered patient communication platform. That approach brought new clinical capabilities into the platform but required full integration each time, which limits how many categories the company can move into at once and how fast.
OpenLoop already runs clinical operations for companies across sleep, weight management, nutrition, and pharmacy, which means it sees demand inside a category months before the market does. Taking a stake lets it back operators in those categories without absorbing them, and without slowing down to integrate.
“We’ve spent six years building the infrastructure that runs clinical operations for a lot of companies,” said Jon Lensing, Co-Founder and CEO at OpenLoop. “We see visit volume inside a category before the market has a read on it. Acquiring a company makes sense when the capability needs to live inside our platform. Often it doesn’t need to, and the company grows faster staying independent with capital behind it. We expect to make more of these strategic investments this year.”
As healthcare consumerism grows, OpenLoop plans to concentrate on companies serving categories where its clinical operations are already running, and where the barrier to growth is the cost of standing up compliant care nationwide rather than demand.
OpenLoop has run the clinical side of Happy Sleep’s diagnostic process, including provider review, since April 2026. Sleep apnea remains widely undiagnosed, in part because in-lab testing is inconvenient enough that patients skip it.
Each investment expands what a single brand can offer its patients, connecting capabilities such as sleep diagnostics, GLP-1 programs, nutrition, and AI-supported care operations through a single infrastructure layer. OpenLoop expects to pursue additional equity investments in category-defining companies that are accelerating the adoption of consumer-driven healthcare and making care more convenient and accessible.
