News
- The 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule continues many telehealth flexibilities first adopted during the public health emergency, such as an expanded scope of originating sites an expanded definition of qualified practitioners. As a result, these flexibilities will be in place until at least Dec. 31, 2024.
- ONC and The Sequoia Project released Version 1.1 of the Common Agreement and committed to having TEFCA support FHIR-based exchange within 2024.
Studies
- More than 9 in 10 (93%) of clinicians use RPM technology in cardiac care rehab, according to a survey from Vivalink. The survey also found 56% of clinicians prefer in-home cardiac rehab to clinic-based rehab, and 53% report an increase in patient adherence once RPM is in place.
- Nearly two-thirds of infusion centers are experiencing staffing shortages, according to a LeanTaaS survey, and more than half experience overbooking frequently.
- Roughly two-thirds of specialty care centers reported wait times of over 4 months for diagnostic evaluations of autism in children, a report from Cognoa found. Further compounding the issue: 83% of assessments take at least three hours.
- Commercial payers are taking longer to respond to claims, putting timely payments in jeopardy, according to the latest MDaudit report. Response times are now 29 business days for outpatient claims and 35 business days for inpatient claims.

- Hona has integrated Particle Health’s API for retrieving records outside an EHR system into its tool for creating medical history summaries.
- Radical Imaging has integrated FlexView with arcc, the imaging platform form Apollo.
- Diabetes and obesity care company Vida Health is making select RPM devices from Withings Health Solution available to members.
- Relias and PsychArmor are partnering to provide training content to behavioral healthcare providers working with active-duty military personnel and veterans.
- Neurolutions and Kandu Health are partnering to improve support for stroke recovery and post-acute care.

- Cedar launched Affordability Navigator, which helps connect consumers to financial assistance offerings.
- Healthcare consumer data vendor Freshpaint launched its Healthcare Privacy Platform.
- Inovalon launched Agency Management, a product for managing third-party staffing agencies that integrates with its Schedule Management tool.
- RapidAI received FDA clearance for Rapid SDH, which helps to detect bleeding in the brain.
- A study from Osso VR showed the effectiveness of virtual reality training for a surgical procedure known as tibial intramedullary nailing.
Sales
- Ohio-based Fisher-Titus chose RevSpring for RCM and payment processing. Since implementation, the rural system has reduced days to payment by more than three days and reduced no-show rates nearly 3%.
- Healthcare management services company Care About selected Innovaccer for population health management.
- Houston’s Baylor College of Medicine chose Luna for in-home outpatient physical therapy.
- Health Payment Systems selected Madaket Health to manage its provider directory and roster requirements for No Surprises Act compliance.
- Community care provider Wider Circle tapped ApolloMed to support Enhanced Care Management for Medicaid members in California.

- Service provider Zane Networks announced the Danielle Carroll Memorial Scholarship for participants of the Public Health Informatics Technology (PHIT4DC) Workforce Diversification Program.

- Community health EHR maker CPSI announced Vinay Bassi as Chief Financial Officer, effective Jan. 1, 2024.
- Data infrastructure and analytics company Kalderos appointed three executives: Jim Sparks and Sudhakar Velamoor join as CFO and Chief Technology Officer, respectively, while Jim Hundemer has been promoted to Chief Information Security Officer.
- Clinical NLP software vendor emtelligent named Andrew Walker as Executive Vice President of Customer Strategy and Operations.
